Tracy Jones is a Toronto-based Recording Artist. He has a long history in the Canadian scene as a performer, player and collaborator.
His history goes back to his breakout band from the mid-80s Tall New Buildings. They were an "it" band in the Toronto New Wave scene, with two charted singles, Casby and Juno nominated.
In the mid 90's he co-wrote a release called "Picture This" by Andrea Florian, which was released in 2003. It was produced by John Switzer and featured Kurt Swinghammer, Al Cross (Big Sugar), and Steve Briggs (BeBop Cowboys).
His 1st solo album "Once Around" was released in 2013. It was a self-produced, personal labour of indie-rock love.
"Lucky Time", his highly acclaimed second album, came with a vinyl release in Spring ’23.
In 2024, Tracy put together his first solo band to begin bringing his music to live audiences in a full band format. They launched in January 2025 with a sold out show at The Painted Lady in Toronto.
Tracy says: “It’s been wonderful writing new material in a full band context. The guys are all contributors to the process and it gives me space to really push myself and stretch out as a frontman.”
